Coastal Group welcomes Wendi Rudholm to the team as human resources director for both the Coastal Automotive and Coastal Container.

Wendi brings over 28 years of people-management experience to the business and will support Coastal as it navigates rapid growth over the coming months.

Putting People First

After earning her bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Michigan, Wendi briefly considered a career in law but ultimately felt a greater draw to the people side of business. “When you put people first, it’s amazing how the business responds—people grow and develop in their attraction of being #1, and it lifts your whole organization,” said Wendi.

While ultimately moving into people management, in her new directorial role, Wendi still gets to indulge her law roots. “Because of the legal side of things, like writing policies and overseeing compliance, I get to be kind of a ‘quasi-lawyer,’” she quipped.

Looking towards the future, Wendi is excited about the strength of Coastal Group’s current talent and finding new talent to support the business in both Coastal Container and Coastal Automotive as it expands in 2023.

“We’re excited to have Wendi join us as we gear up for the expansion. She’s a heavy-hitter with a lot of experience, so she’s a great fit for our growing team,” said Coastal Group Chairman Brent Patterson.

About Wendi

Born and raised in Fruitport, Rudholm is a self-professed, “lake girl,” spending as much time as possible on the water, boating, water-skiing, sea-dooing and swimming. While usually more of a beach person, she still finds perks to the chillier times of the year—especially downhill skiing with her husband and three daughters.
